St. George MSU will be holding a Special District Budget Meeting on Tuesday, October 18 in the Gym at the St. George School at 6 PM. At this meeting, we will vote to use money from last year’s fund balance to pay the remaining obligations of section 18 of the RSU 13 Withdrawal Agreement. This will have no effect on the current budget or assessment. The MSU has money remaining from last year’s budget (our fund balance) that we can use to pay off this financial obligation. This is an obligation that the Town accepted when it voted to withdraw from RSU 13 and create an independent, community-school.
After the district budget meeting, we will need to have a referendum question on Election Day – Tuesday, November 8 – where voters authorize the Board to use some of last year’s fund balance to pay the remaining obligations of the Withdrawal Agreement.
This is a great moment for the Town and School – we can wrap up the Withdrawal Agreement and move on as a truly independent, community-school.
If you have any questions, please contact Mike Felton at firstname.lastname@example.org, 372.6312, or just stop by the school. Best,
Superintendent/ Special Education Director
