2015 Summer Math Camp Report

2015 St. George Summer Math Camp

In 2015, for the third consecutive summer, the St. George School opened its doors to nearly 50 students in 1st through 8th grade interested in increasing their overall math skills. For three weeks – Monday-Friday – students and teachers worked on projects, worksheets, websites, and games to help boost math scores on school-wide Fall assessments. Given that most students in the nation lose over 2 months worth of math skills during the summer, we are pleased to announce that 72% of students participating in last year’s math camp either increased their math test scores or kept their scores stable from the Spring. Congratulations to all of the hard-working campers!

We expect to offer another 3-week math camp this summer. Similar to last year, the total invitations sent to families will be limited by the number of teachers able to work over the summer. In the spring, the most recent testing data will be analyzed and staff will determine the students whom would benefit most from this extra instruction. Staff will then contact families. However, if you would like your child’s name added to a wait-list before then, feel free to contact Adam Bullard at a.bullard@stgeorgemsu.org.
